Timeline
Oct 28, 2021 -- Community leaders joined The NHP Foundation and Temenos Community Development Corporation in breaking ground on their newest development, Temenos Place, a 95- unit permanent supportive housing development. The project will replace units being bought out by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and provide new apartment homes for people who may otherwise face homelessness. Temenos Place will quickly respond to the increased need for permanent supportive housing and wrap-around services, with a large portion of the construction cost financed from the City of Houston and Harris County.
The total cost of Temenos Place will be $34 million. The City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) will provide approximately $12.5 million to the development through a combination of federal, disaster recovery, and local housing bond funding. Harris County will also contribute $11 million to the development through disaster recovery funds to replace housing lost to Hurricane Harvey and provide long-term solutions to housing inequities.
