Wayne State University is a public research university in Detroit, Michigan. It was founded in 1868 and is currently home to about 30,000 students.
The school is known for its programs in health professions, arts and sciences, business administration, engineering technology and computer science. There are also many academic centers at Wayne State including the Kresge Art Museum, the Detroit Center on Transitional States: Urban Culture & Society (part of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences), the Institute of Gerontology at WSU-PHS (School of Medicine) and more.
Students come from all over the world to attend Wayne State University which makes it a diverse community with many different cultures represented on campus. Students will find plenty to do around campus as there are many clubs/organizations they can join or participate in activities with their friends!
Wayne State University is located on the east side of Detroit just north of I-96. The campus is easily accessible to all students, faculty and staff by public transportation (buses) or personal vehicles. It is also close to many restaurants and shops in Midtown that are within walking distance.
Wayne State University has a variety of campus housing options for students including on-campus apartments and off-campus houses/townhomes. The majority of students that live on campus do so in an apartment or suite style residence hall.
