El Paso
The University of Texas at El Paso, often referred to as UTEP or UTEP-El Paso, is a public research university in El Paso, Texas. The school was founded in 1914 and has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 30,000 students.
UTEP offers over 100 undergraduate degree programs and more than 90 graduate degrees across their six colleges: College of Engineering; College of Business Administration; College of Education; College of Health Professions and Nursing; School of Law; School of Pharmacy.
The main campus is located near downtown El Paso but there are also extension campuses in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and Carlsbad New Mexico.
If you're looking to live off campus, there are several housing options available in El Paso. If you want something more traditional, there are apartments with furnished rooms available for rent by the month or year. You can also find houses for rent that come with roommates; this is often cheaper than renting an apartment alone. A lot of UTEP's students live in nearby Northwest El Paso (NWEP), but others choose to live on campus at one of the residence halls or apartments provided by UTEP as part of their financial aid package.
