The University of Texas at Austin is one of the nation's top research universities, with a long history going back to 1883 when it was known as The University of Texas at Austin. Today it boasts more than 100 degree programs and hosts an annual enrollment of over 50,000 students—the largest single-campus student population in the United States.
UT Austin offers over 100 majors and minors across its six colleges: College Station; Guadalupe; McCombs School of Business; School of Law and School of Medicine (including Dell Medical School). Students can choose from 10 different undergraduate schools if they want to specialize in something specific like business or engineering, but most students choose general education classes that allow them to take advantage their major later on down the road after graduation.
The school also has a large graduate program, with over 100 programs offered at the graduate level. In addition to the traditional academic courses, there are also many opportunities for students to get involved in activities outside of the classroom.
The University of Texas at Austin is known for its engineering, architecture and petroleum sciences programs. The school has a long history of producing successful alumni who go on to work in those fields, but it's also one of the best universities to study music or theater.
The campus is located in Downtown Austin and features several museums (including the Museum of Texas Tech University), restaurants and entertainment venues that host concerts every weekend throughout the year. Most students live off campus with their families; however, there are many options available if you need housing near campus during your studies there!
