Ann Arbor
The University of Michigan is a highly respected research institution. It's known for its academic rigor and the quality of its faculty, who are often leaders in their field. If you're interested in studying medicine or engineering, this university can be a good choice for you.
The University of Michigan is located in Ann Arbor, a small city with a strong sense of community and a lot of college students. Students at UM often take advantage of the school's proximity to Detroit, where they can visit museums and attend professional sports games (notably football!) on weekends and holidays.
If you're thinking about attending the University of Michigan as an undergraduate student, you should know that most students live on campus in one of the school's dorms (called "first-year halls"). Some first-year halls are locked buildings with no off-campus access; others allow residents to leave during weekends and holidays but require them to check back in by midnight each evening during fall and winter terms (these dorms have been nicknamed "residence halls").
If you choose to live off campus as an undergraduate student at University of Michigan, be sure that your housing is within walking distance or easily accessible by car so that you don't have trouble getting to class.
