Tokyo
Tokyo is the world's largest metropolitan area, with a population of over 38 million people. It has a rich history and culture that dates back to the 14th century. Today, Tokyo is one of the most important economic hubs in Asia and even the entire world. The city has many attractions for tourists as well as residents, including its many museums and galleries, temples and shrines, parks and gardens—not to mention shopping districts for those interested in fashion or electronics!
The local economy is centered on finance, services (such as media production), manufacturing (including automobiles), retailing (including food processing), transportation/logistics & distribution services; tourism; as well as research & development. Tokyo is also known for its consumer electronics, food production and entertainment industries. The city hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including the annual Tokyo International Film Festival in October.
Tokyo has several popular neighborhoods, each with their own unique feel and vibe. These include Shibuya (a shopping district), Harajuku (a fashionable neighborhood) and Shinjuku (an area known for its nightlife).
Tokyo is also a major transportation hub, with over 20 million people traveling through each day. The Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway are the two main subway networks in Tokyo, and both run through a series of train lines that cover most of the city.
