Seton Hall University is a private university located in South Orange, New Jersey. The school was founded in 1856 and has an enrollment of over 12,000 students. Seton Hall offers over 100 undergraduate majors, as well as several graduate programs including law and business administration. Its most popular majors are political science, accounting and finance; social work; marketing communications; psychology; education (elementary); biology/biological sciences; nursing (RN to BSN); engineering technology/engineering design technologies; exercise physiology/sports medicine.
Seton Hall is a Catholic university, so it has many different religious organizations for students to join. The Interfaith Community at Seton Hall University is an organization that promotes tolerance and understanding between people of all faiths. Students must take a course called “Catholicism in America” in order to graduate from Seton Hall; this class is taught by the university chaplain.
Seton Hall students have the option of living in dorms or apartments, depending on their needs. The university has four main buildings that house more than 2,300 students: Aresty Hall, Lyons Hall and Seabrook Residence Halls are all coed residence halls; Walsh Hall is a women-only residence hall. Students can also choose to live in townhouses near campus or off-campus apartments if they prefer privacy.
Seton Hall does not have on-campus housing for undergraduates but does have several dormitory options for upperclassmen who live off-campus: The Towers at South Orange Village (New Jersey): This apartment complex within walking distance from both the main campus area as well as nearby downtown gives students easy access to restaurants, shops & nightlife along Main Street. The Towers also provides a shuttle service to and from campus. Seton Hall University Dorms (New Jersey): These on-campus dorms are available for upperclassmen who live off-campus. They include both single rooms and suites with shared bathrooms and kitchens, as well as common areas. The dorms are located on the main campus area of South Orange, New Jersey and within walking distance to many of the university’s athletic facilities.
