Rochester

RIT is known for its art, design, and photography programs—so if those are your thing, you'll be in good company. The university also has an active Greek life community (with over 30 fraternities and sororities) and a great athletic program with 19 Division I sports teams that regularly compete in national tournaments. If you're looking for something different from the usual party-centric college experience, consider RIT: one of their unique features is on-campus housing options where students can live together by major or interest.

Rochester Institute of Technology is a private school with a focus on engineering and technology. RIT was founded in 1829, and today it has about 15,000 students enrolled.

RIT is known for being one of the top schools in the country for undergraduate engineering and computing programs; it also offers strong liberal arts programs as well as a top-notch fine arts program.

The best subjects to study at Rochester Institute of Technology include engineering, computer science, business management and marketing, graphic design and animation (or "media arts"), industrial design or architecture. If you're interested in something other than these majors then you should still apply: RIT has more than 200 areas of study available!

If you decide to move off campus after freshman year and want to continue living with other RIT students, there are plenty of apartments within walking distance of campus or a quick bus ride away. The neighborhood around RIT is pretty safe overall; however there have been some incidents involving students who were walking home from parties late at night so it's recommended that you stick with people who know your route and time frame so they can help keep track of each other's whereabouts at all times.

If you're looking for a school that has plenty of activities and social opportunities, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is one of the best college towns in New York. The university itself is located in downtown Rochester next to Eastman Business Park which includes many office buildings and hotels; however it's also within walking distance of some great restaurants and shops as well as other colleges like University of Rochester or Nazareth College.
