Pune
Pune is an extremely popular city in Maharashtra, India. It is the second largest city in the state and has a population of over 2 million people. The city is also called "Oxford of the East" because it attracts many students from across India every year who want to study at one of its universities.
The local economy is based on agriculture, textiles, tourism and IT services (including outsourcing). Some popular neighborhoods include Baner-Balewadi, Kalyaninagar and Viman Nagar where you'll find plenty of apartments for rent near schools, hospitals and markets.
One thing that makes Pune so unique are its festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi (festival celebrating Lord Ganesha's birthday), Navaratri (nine nights dedicated to Goddess Durga), Diwali (Indian New Year) or Ganeshotsav ("Ganesh festival"). There's always something going on in this vibrant city!
The city is well-connected by road and rail, with daily trains to Mumbai (the state's capital) as well as many other cities in India. Pune also has an airport with direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
