Rochester
Oakland University is a public university located in the city of Rochester, Michigan. With an enrollment of over 20,000 students and 200 degree programs available at its three main campuses (Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and Troy), Oakland University is one of the largest universities in the state of Michigan. OU offers a wide range of majors including business administration, criminal justice, psychology and nursing. The school is known for its excellent engineering programs that include chemical engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering.
Oakland offers many unique opportunities for students to get involved on campus through clubs and organizations like Phi Sigma Pi (National honor society for Education majors), Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity or Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. There are also intramural sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and table tennis which are open to all undergraduate students with no fee charged to participate.
The best place to live if you're going to Oakland University is Rochester Hills or Troy since they are both close enough to campus but still offer plenty of off-campus housing options as well as having good local schools nearby (Rochester Community Schools). About 65% of students live off-campus but there are on-campus dormitories available if you prefer this option instead!
The university also offers many services to students, faculty and staff including free shuttle buses between its three campuses and the University Center, which is located in downtown Rochester. Oakland’s campus life is well-rounded with opportunities for students to get involved both on campus and off.
