Montclair
If you're looking for an affordable college option and are interested in living in a city with a vibrant cultural scene, Montclair State University might be the perfect fit for your needs. The school is known for its strong business program, but it also offers an array of options for students who want to study the arts. Students can choose from more than 100 undergraduate programs and 90 graduate programs across 12 different schools and colleges, including everything from engineering to psychology.
Montclair State is located about 20 miles outside New York City about a 30 minute train ride away from Manhattan's Penn Station, but it still has plenty of culture on campus thanks in part to its proximity to New York City as well as its rich history dating back over 150 years ago when the school was founded by Quakers originally named Normal School No 2 before becoming what we know today as Montclair State University!
The school has over 25,000 students and offers more than 300 clubs and organizations for students to get involved in on campus. With a large number of international students from around the world who come to study at MSU, it's easy to find someone with whom you can connect. The school also boasts a strong Greek life presence, with 21 fraternities and sororities on campus.
Students who live on campus are required to live in residence halls or university apartments during their first two years at Montclair State University; however they may choose to live off campus after that time period if they wish.
