Miami
Miami University is a public university in Oxford, Ohio. It was founded in 1809 and is one of the oldest colleges in Miami Valley. It's known for its school spirit and athletics, including their Division 1 football team. Students tend to study business administration or education at Miami. On campus life includes many activities and events for students to get involved with, including intramural sports and major concerts by big name artists.
Miami has close proximity to downtown Cincinnati which makes it easy for students who do not live on campus to get into the city during weekends or breaks from schoolwork. The cost of off-campus housing is depending on where you live near campus; however if you can't afford this price range there are still plenty of options within walking distance that are much cheaper than living further away off campus like Mount Adams or Walnut Hills neighborhoods just south of downtown Cincinnati.
In addition to this, Miami has many clubs and organizations to join that promote social interaction between students. There are a number of Greek life organizations on campus including sororities and fraternities (the most popular being Sigma Alpha Mu).
The campus is also diverse and provides many resources for students of color. There are many student organizations at Miami including: Black Student Union, Hispanic Student Association, Asian-American Student Union, Native American Student Union, and more. These groups provide a place for students to express themselves through art or performance as well as being able to discuss issues that affect them specifically. The school itself is very open minded when it comes to religion and sexual orientation so there are many religious organizations on campus like Hillel House which serves Jewish students.
