Easton
Lafayette College is a liberal arts college in Easton, Pennsylvania, founded in 1826 by James Madison Porter, brother of President James Monroe. Today, it’s known for its excellent academic programs and beautiful campus; it was also ranked #1 on The Princeton Review's Best Campus Food list.
Most students live in one of the three residential communities: New Hall (for freshmen), McNeil Hall (for sophomores), and Butler House (for juniors). Off-campus housing tends to be expensive in Lafayette's location—a short commute from New York City—so many students decide to stay on campus after their first year.
Located just 50 miles from Philadelphia and 90 miles from New York City, Easton has plenty of activities going on during your four years at school. There are several museums like the Charles Evans Wharton Art Museum or Moravian College; you could also spend time browsing art galleries or visiting wineries around this area! If you prefer getting outdoors there are plenty of hiking trails right outside town as well as kayaking trips available nearby too!
There are plenty of things to do at the college itself too! You can attend concerts in The HUB or go see a performance at one of Easton's many theatre groups; there are also fun events like Winter Weekend or Homecoming for students to enjoy.
If you want to stay active while at school, Easton has plenty of opportunities. There are intramural sports teams like flag football or dodgeball available; there is also a gym and fitness center where students can work out! If you love being outside, there are several hiking trails just outside town as well as kayaking trips nearby too!
