Illinois State University is one of the oldest universities in Illinois and was originally founded by Abraham Lincoln. It's known for its excellent engineering, science and business programs. Some of their best-known specialties include: Business Administration (BBA) and Education (MEd).
The campus life is pretty amazing at ISU; there are clubs and activities for everyone from religious groups to sports teams to academic societies. Most students stay on campus because it's so easy to make friends there! If you do want a change of scenery, though, Champaign (where ISU is located) has lots of great restaurants and bars as well as a vibrant music scene with venues like The Canopy Club hosting live bands every night of the week!
The campus is beautiful and it's easy to see why so many people want to go here. The professors are great and the administration is always looking for ways to improve the school. It's very affordable compared to many other private universities, too!
The downside is that there aren't many options for off-campus housing. Most of the dorms are pretty old and in need of renovation; if you want to live somewhere nicer, you have to find an apartment or house near campus or commute from home every day.
