Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is the capital city of Argentina. It's known as "The Paris of South America", and it has a population of over 2 million people. It's one of the most popular cities in Argentina, but it also has an international reputation as well. You can find everything you need here: museums, shopping centers, art galleries, theaters… almost anything!
In Buenos Aires you'll find many neighborhoods with different characteristics depending on their location and history. Some examples include Palermo Viejo (for students), Retiro (a residential area), Las Cañitas (a trendy neighborhood), Belgrano R or Recoleta (where you'll find more expensive real estate).
The culture here is very vibrant, much like that of many other Latin American cities. There are plenty of traditional dances you can take part in during your time here, or if you're feeling creative, you can even join in with some street performances!
You may want to check out La Boca neighborhood which has lots of colorful buildings from its past as an immigrant settlement; Las Canitas beach which has lots of restaurants where locals hang out; San Telmo market where there are tons of stalls selling homemade crafts like leather jackets and hats; the Monserrat neighborhood which has many old churches, museums and art galleries; and Retiro Park where there are lots of gardens and fountains.
